EmerAid Intensive Care Herbivore is a semi-elemental, high-fibre diet developed for critically ill herbivores — such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, iguanas and tortoises.

It was created by a panel of specialists including exotic animal vets, emergency clinicians and nutritionists, and can be combined with EmerAid Intensive Care Omnivore and Carnivore, depending on the species.

Key features

  • The main fibre source is cellulose, a gentle fibre for the sensitive gastrointestinal tract of the debilitated herbivore.
  • Highly digestible nutrition, for fast energy and easy digestion.
  • High energy density: smaller volume per feed.
  • All essential amino acids, with high levels of arginine and glutamine.
  • Balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and dietary nucleotides.
  • Once prepared, passes through 5 Fr feeding tubes without clogging.

Composition

Cellulose, hydrolysed soy protein, glucose syrup solids, ground rice, inulin, corn oil, defatted wheat germ, canola oil, L-glutamine, ground limestone, potassium bicarbonate, dicalcium phosphate, sucrose, natural vanilla flavouring, L-valine, choline chloride, DL-methionine, magnesium sulphate, citric acid, L-cysteine, L-tryptophan, vitamins and minerals.
